New occurrences start unpaid with an empty payment history, so balances never bleed between periods.

How is this different from auto-billing?
Auto-billing charges clients; here you generate and review each occurrence then send it yourself. Deliberate, for now.
Does it send invoices automatically?
Not yet — generation is manual today. Server-side scheduling via background jobs is on the roadmap.
Can I have several repeating clients?
Yes, mark any number of invoices as repeating; each generates its own next occurrence.
What happens if I change items mid-retainer?
Edit before clicking Next… — the clone takes whatever the current invoice shows.
